"You got to make your own worlds. You got to write yourself in. Whether you were a part of the greater society or not, you got to write yourself in."

                                                                                                             Octavia Butler

What if I told you that there were worlds inside of you? What if I told you that you have a story to tell? Whether you're a new writer or have been published a million times over, the truth remains that you have something to say that people need. It could be many people or one person, but you need to know that the worlds you create and the words you write are the key to changing someone's life.

What if I told you that even if you believe those words, it can still be tricky to come to the page and write.  You're not alone. The number of people who are picking up their pens or sitting at their laptops and NOT writing are beyond measure. It doesn't have to be that way. Octavia Butler isn't just the first black woman science fiction writer, she was also a writer with a clear vision, undeterred belief, and a plan.  She wrote out her vision and decided who she was going to be as a writer. Sign up for this challenge and we will do the same.

In this 12 week writing challenge we will explore the importance of affirming yourself as a writer (and person), committing to writing (no matter what) and following through on your project, even if its 100 words a day.  Sign up here. So join us for:
